Boxx get on their Bikes and ‘Go Dutch’!

19th January 2016 by admin

Boxx get on their Bikes and 'Go Dutch'!

With The British Cycling Federation pushing for the Government to invest more in our two-wheel infrastructure, there has never been a better time to follow in the footsteps of our European cousins and lead a healthier, more outdoorsy lifestyle.

And here at Boxx, we’re doing just that…..

Our directors Dean Burgin and James Green are already cycling fans with all the kit, and can often be spotted out on a Sunday morning clocking up the miles in lycra and searching for a suitable place to stop for a coffee break.

As well as being lovers of cycling, they also have a passion for ‘proper’ coffee, and they feel high street chains just don’t cut the mustard. It was their love of the bean that led to their blossoming relationship with Bogota Coffee Company, a relatively new business at The Hub here in Milton Keynes.

Bike Ride

Always keen to support small businesses in general, they were determined to continue to drink Bogota’s highest quality authentic coffee even after their closest outlet closed. So they decided to follow Bogota’s lead and purchase some Dutchie-style bikes to get them to the flagship coffee house quickly and easily!

Bogota & Us

So, why the Dutchie…?

Fifty years ago, car-related death rates in The Netherlands were extremely high, so, as a country dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle, they took the decision to give priority to bikes and pedestrian-only areas. A whole culture has now developed around their chosen style of bikes, which are durable and designed for everyday use as well as easy to ride, safe and fun. And of course, they feature that fantastic iconic design!

When riding a Dutchie, you’re more upright than many other styles of bike, particularly racers, and riding to the coffee house has given Dean and James a new perspective on cycling – and also made them realise that Milton Keynes is perfect for it!

Boys Riding

Not only is it relatively flat, with wide open spaces, but the city has a Redway system of cycle paths too. The legendary shopping centre (which is over a mile walk from one end to the other and back) is not easy to accomplish in a lunch-break either – so being on a bike certainly makes tackling the busy, sprawl of the city centre much easier and more enjoyable. Not to mention bikes being far easier to park!

Who wouldn’t want that…?

Having had our eyes opened to the possibilities, we now want to see a revolution in Milton Keynes….!

Driverless cars, known as shuttle pods have already been trialled in the city. Next we want MK businesses to get on board and invest in company bikes that staff can use to have more options at lunchtimes, make healthier choices for client visits and encourage other businesses to join in as well.

In a nod to the coffee house that first started using these bikes in MK, our bikes feature not only our logo but also that of Bogota Coffee and we are proud to be taking the phrase ‘Go Dutch’ to a new level!

Both Logos

So who’s going to join us….?

Even if cycling’s not your thing, you can help spread the word on twitter. Let’s see if we can get these hashtags trending, here in Milton Keynes and beyond!

#GoDutch
#DutchieProject
#ChooseCycling

Putting customer service at the heart of everything we do

Putting customer service at the heart of everything we do

Consistently excellent customer service has always been one of our key business drivers here at Boxx – without our customers we are nothing, and we want to give our best to each and every one.

Part of our drive to continue excelling in this area has already seen the recent launch of a new customer section on our website, where existing customers can check their bill online, provide feedback about our products (and us!) and easily recommend a friend, saving you both money.

And now we’re thrilled to announce two other bits of news as well, that we will hope will continue to benefit both current and future Boxx customers.

The first is the appointment of Steve Davie as our new Customer Service Manager…..

Customer Service Manager: Steve

Heading up our fabulous team of customer advisors, who are always on hand to answer queries, Steve brings vast customer-facing and telecoms experience to the role and we are very excited to pass him the reins of this growing area of the business. He already has some great ideas about how we can improve things even further and we are looking forward to what the future holds with him at the customer service helm.

Additionally, we have just signed up to Trustpilot – the independent online review site where users can leave reviews of services and products. We’re confident in our products and services, so are happy to be transparent as well as always looking to see where we can improve.

Trustpilot

Trust pilot offers another way for people to leave us feedback so we can see what is working and what is not. You can see what’s been said so far here.

As you’ve probably noticed, it’s very important to us that we are always here to help and we deeply value our customers. We like to take the time to get to know each and every one, so that we can give the very best advice. We have featured some of our customer stories on our website, so you can see how our relationship has evolved, along with their needs and our product recommendations.

As ever, please get in touch if you are a customer and have an enquiry or some feedback for us. And for those who we aren’t yet working with, we’d love to see how we might be able to help you.

Either way, we’d love to talk to you!

Website Update: New dedicated customer section

Here at Boxx we are passionate about doing everything we can for our loyal customers.

Wanting to go that little bit further, we have created a new special area on our website with features designed to make customer’s lives as easy as possible.

Here, customers are now able to do the following…..

Check your bill online: – We know that being able to log in and check your bill, at a time that is convenient is important, so we had it built into the website. All you need to do is enter your username and password. To get set up with this feature, get in touch.

Tell us how we are performing: – Feedback is crucial to us to enable us to continue to improve. We wanted to make the ability to provide feedback straightforward, so again we added it to the website. As an extra incentive, each time you make the effort to give us feedback through the site we will knock £5 off your bill.

Recommend a friend: – If you recommend a friend to us and they go on to sign up, we will give you £35 off your bill plus your friend will get a £9.99 credit on their account as well. It’s as simple as that!

Also featured on the new Customers section are links to our Customer Stories, where we take a more in-depth look at some of our clients and how they have developed and grown while with us.

We hope you like the new features. Of course, if you have any suggestions or comments about what we’ve done, or indeed anything else that we could do, then feel free to use the feedback box to get in touch!

Boxx Shop Local & Support Small Businesses

27th March 2015 by admin

Boxx Shop Local & Support Small Businesses

Here at Boxx we’ve just launched our new website – we hope you like it! Our aim was to simplify our offering to make even clearer what we could do and let our products and services do the talking.

As a service company, we predominantly work with SMEs and so when we were coming up with the content, look and feel for the site, we decided to use local small businesses to pull it together.

The web designer was an easy choice as we have been working with Terry at local business Amasci Creative for years now and he never ceases to amaze us with his work, dedication and professionalism.

Another obvious place to do this was with our images. Like most companies undergoing a website transformation, we wanted to use pictures that were personal to us and pertinent to our products, as well as looking fresh and striking. We decided to think outside the Box(x) and approach a local wedding photographer, Matt Parry Photography, who came with an excellent reputation and a gorgeous portfolio (do take a look, he really has captured some stunning shots).

We needed someone to come into the office to take some photographs, but also wanted some street photography to liven up the pages and offer something different from the standard stock shots, that we all see way too much of. Obviously this was a bit different from shooting emotional brides and tearful grooms, but alternative wedding photographer Matt took to the challenge with gusto and was more than happy to take it on.

One of the reasons we had chosen him was the look and feel of his pictures being a bit different from the standard wedding ones but still conveying the spirit of the day. Our hope – and the reality, happily – was that Matt would be able to capture the spirit and professionalism of the Boxx staffers without resorting to cheesy mass office photos, or individual headshots as seen on LinkedIn.

It worked really well. We’re primarily delighted because we wanted the imagery on our site to be about people, rather than purely corporate, and Matt has captured that perfectly.

Boxx is a huge supporter of people and their businesses, doing whatever we can to help. Whether we are talking about a small independent coffee shop, or a letting agency, they are all run by people, whose customers are people. It is the people-mindedness of our business that really sets us apart, and we are pleased beyond measure that Matt’s lovely pictures reflect that.

So a huge thanks to the talented Matt for his excellent work and cheerful working manner, not forgetting, too, to credit Terry at Amasci Creative for his website design talents. He took the pictures and our words, and created a website that is not only a thing of beauty but also something that we feel really portrays our company, our products and our ethos, in a way that we are immensely proud of!

Cheers guys – And three cheers for SME’s!
